The serrano chilli originates from the mountain areas of Mexico, from the states Puebla (you remember Popocatapetl...) and Hildago. The word "Serrano" gives us the hints, that it belongs to the mountains.
It is more slim than the Jalapeno, but you can use it in the same way. It is not good for drying.
The serrano chilli is medium hot to hot. That depends in the local circumstances.
Use it for yous salsa and for all your favourite chilli receipes.
It ripens fron green to red. The taste of the green Serrano is very distinctive.
